My audience is people who collect old match books. They were introduced to this object when they went to their first estate sale, found a jar of old matchbooks and fell in love. Yes in love. Sigh... They are interested in these objects because of the clever ways that these matches were used as advertising for companies. Everything was considered, from the back and front of the book to the inside, to the matches themselves. It is definitely a hobby, collecting matches. I don't know if there is a feeling associated maybe the pure joy of collecting such captivating works of design. They would want to see an exhibit because matches are a dying form of advertisement.

Visual Language: Prepared Statement
My target audience for my two posters were latino americans ranging in age from 18-40. With my first poster, VOTA, I explored the rhetorical trope of allegory. I represented the latino culture symbolically through color and texture creating a visual patchwork of the diverse culture. My posters copy reads It takes a community of people coming together to make a difference. Conceptually I took all of these different photographs and place them together to form one background image, relating to my copy of people coming together to make a change. In my next poster, CON LIBERTAD Y JUSTICIA PARA TODOS, I am exploring the rhetorical trope of hyperbole, implying that if citizens do not vote, their rights will be taken away. The copy reads With Liberty and Justice for all. Liberty and Justice fade when you don't vote. Vote. I picked this famous phrase because it was subtle way to reference my target audience. To me "for all" references that minorities and majorities all have equal rights. The typeface is extreme, furthering the reference to the hyperbole and the call to action to vote. Liberty and Justice are literally fading, reaffirming my body copy.

Multimedia Experience: Not Final Newsletter
I was inspired by the way itunes organizes there database of music and podcasts. I took the bar as my inspiration and revised there system so that the reader/listener controls the organization of the content. The staggered bar are positioned based on the amount of download happen within each category. I will make a information graphic to come to explain this principle.

Multimedia Experience: Revising Ideas
During critique, we talked about combining the first two ideas of mine and giving the formal qualities of my newsletter a facelift. These next two days I will be concentrating on organizing the information of the podcasts (title, author, category, etc.) into a user friendly, interesting database. I researched both itunes and the nytime's identity and ways that they were organizing databases of information. This post is the result of my findings.
Below: Information is categorized into stripes of information or visual squares. I thought it was interesting how the political podcast was portrayed visually.
I love the exploration of these pieces and how they break away from the identity established.
